Animal Services In Miami

FOMA supports many aspects of animal services in Miami.
We focus on key issues such as TNR (Trap/Neuter/Return) of community cats, pet rescue, fostering and adoption, as well as spay and neuter programs in our community. All of these areas of focus are extremely important and they are relevant issues that we face daily in Miami. Miami-Dade County has a staggering number of homeless pets both at our county and other shelters and on our streets. Shelters are often at capacity and can’t keep up with new intakes they receive daily. Fostering and adoption programs are important and with every dog or cat that is adopted a life is saved, and a space for another in the shelter or rescue is made available. Spay and neuter programs are also crucial in controlling overpopulation of unwanted pets and FoMA supports spay and neuter solutions through education and funding of low cost and free spay/neuter and TNR services to the public. In addition to these important services in Miami, FoMA supports enrichment initiatives for shelter pets through funding of expanded play yards for large dogs, organizing holiday toy drives, and securing kitten cuddler supplies for neonate kittens, as well as serving as sponsor for Miami Dade Animal Service’s annual volunteer fair to engage and recruit volunteers.
